Amazing Day Camp

Campers will participate in various activities- age-appropriate games, hikes, and crafts determined by the counselors and what the group likes to do. Activities include Stem Activities, Archery, Hiking, Art and Crafts, Scavenger Hunts, and more.

Currently, we have limited Camp programming for children between the ages of 3 and 13.

Program

A typical day begins with all Campers meeting at their assigned Camp Sites. All Campers will be in small groups of children of the same age, with whom they will spend the entire session. The camper Staff ratio will be 2:16. Camp CaHiTo is a “group-centered” camp – meaning that our campers have the same counselor and peer group for the camp session. Group-centered camping gives children the best opportunity to experience the powerful feeling of belonging, to make and keep new friends, and to connect with their counselors.

Campers participate in various activities, including age-appropriate games, hikes, and crafts determined by the counselors and what the group likes to do. Activities include Stem Activities, Archery, Hiking, Art and Crafts, Scavenger Hunts, and more.

Camp CaHiTo is located at 3101 Balboa Drive, San Diego, CA 92101. The west side of Balboa Park is conveniently located in Balboa Park near I-5 and the 163 freeways. We will have three drop-off and pick-up times; please check your registration for the appropriate times.

Camp Hours – Group A 7:30 am – 4:00 pm / Group B 8:00 am – 4:30 pm / Group C 8:30 am – 5:00 pm

  • Campers should bring lunch and snacks. Refrigeration is not available; please do not send perishable foods. (Camp will not be providing a snack, and the Snack Shack will be closed)
  • A Water bottle with your camper’s names on it. Drinking fountains will be available, along with water stations will be available to refill bottles.
  • Comfortable play clothes, as campers, WILL get dirty.
  • Closed-toed shoes and socks are required. No sandals or open-back shoes.
  • A hat or cap and sunscreen. Parents should apply sunscreen before campers arrive at Camp in the morning.

**NEW** Ga-Ga for GAGA Camp @ Camp Fire SD - Camp CaHiTo
Jun 2 – Jun 6 all-day

For Campers 6-10 years old.

Is your camper a big fan of Gaga? If so, this camp is perfect for them! We will host a Gaga tournament and play variations like Super Gaga and Multiball Gaga, among others. Get ready for an active camp filled with fun and lots of Gaga gameplay!

Although it is a Speciality Camp, campers also will get to do all of the other awesome activities CaHiTo has to offer, including hiking, arts and crafts, scavenger hunts, organized games, climbing wall (allowing that the camper is eight and up at the start of the program) and much more.

Archery Camp @ Camp Fire SD - Camp CaHiTo
Jun 2 – Jun 6 all-day

For Campers 6-10 years old.

Learn how to shoot a bow and arrow properly with Certified Archery Specialists. We will shoot at our Standard Course and Lower Field Archery Course to perfect all our learned skills. Campers will be taught all the techniques, and all equipment will be included for use.

Although it is a Speciality Camp, campers also will get to do all of the other awesome activities CaHiTo has to offer, including hiking, arts and crafts, scavenger hunts, organized games, climbing wall (allowing that the Camper is 8 and up at the start of the program) and much more.

Art Camp @ Camp Fire SD - Camp CaHiTo

For Campers 6-10 years old.

Our art camp will allow campers to get creative with their hands and imaginations. Each Day they will focus on a different art project, and at the end of the week, they will have some fun pieces to bring home!

Although it is a Speciality Camp, campers also will get to do all of the other awesome activities CaHiTo has to offer, including hiking, arts and crafts, scavenger hunts, organized games, climbing wall (allowing that the Camper is eight and up at the start of the program) and much more.

Jr Ranger Camp @ Camp Fire SD - Camp CaHiTo
Jun 2 – Jun 6 all-day

For Campers 6-10 years old.

With the help of the Balboa Park & National Park Rangers, we will learn about all the plants and animals in the area and some fun survival tips. We will learn how to flower press, make tea from different herbs, and what in nature could help us if we get in a jam. You will be a certified Jr. Ranger at the end of the week!

Although it is a Speciality Camp, campers also will get to do all of the other awesome activities CaHiTo has to offer, including hiking, arts and crafts, scavenger hunts, organized games, climbing wall (allowing that the camper is eight and up at the start of the program) and much more.

Lego Craze Camp @ Camp CaHiTo

For Campers 6-10 years old.

Does your Camper have Legos on their mind? In Lego Craze, Campers will explore, imagine and create unique structures and creations independently. Creations can include games like a pinball board, mega mazes, Ultimate Build Challenges, and more.

Robo-CaHiTo: Robotics Camp @ Camp CaHiTo
Jun 2 – Jun 6 all-day

For Campers 6-10 years old.

Campers will learn hands-on throughout our robotics camp, seeing their creations come to life! They will build different robots, which could include a Monkey, Walking Robot, or Zombie-Bot. Throughout the week, Campers will learn how to engineer robots that use solar power, offering plenty of imaginative possibilities.

Slime Camp @ Camp CaHiTo

For Campers 6-10 years old.

Join the scientists at CaHiTo Laboratories as a slime product tester! This wonderful week of Camp will explore the unique properties of slime. Campers will investigate polymers, viscosity, Newtonian fluids, properties of fluoresce, magnetism, and insulation. See Slime Laboratories’ job posting below…

Help Wanted! CaHiTo Laboratories is looking to hire young scientists to test new slime products. We need young, curious children to test crazy, sticky, crunchy, foamy, sparkly, slimly, glowing, bumpy, weird, and otherwise unidentifiable slimes. Qualifications: You must be willing to make lots of new kinds of slime and subject those slimes to quality testing at our lab. No experience is necessary to apply.

**NEW** Lego Steam Camp @ Camp CaHiTo
Jun 9 – Jun 13 all-day

For Campers 6-10 years old.

Does your camper love LEGO and STEAM? This camp offers an engaging, hands-on exploration of STEAM concepts, all while using LEGO. Campers will embark on an Arctic adventure, where they’ll design and build a snowmobile to reach their destination. They’ll also participate in an Underwater Quest aboard a submarine, navigating both in and out of the water. Additionally, campers will create an animal alarm to ensure they don’t miss any wildlife passing by their campsite, among other activities.

Throughout the camp, campers will learn the fundamentals of sequencing. They will also develop skills in problem-solving, breaking down challenges into smaller steps, identifying cause and effect, and understanding simple loops. Finally, campers will explore the processes of testing and debugging to ensure their projects function as intended.

Adventure Trek Camp @ Camp Fire SD - Camp CaHiTo
Jun 9 – Jun 13 all-day

For Campers 6-10 years old.

Adventure Trek is going to keep you moving! During the week, we will be trekking through Balboa park, doing some Geocaching which is an outdoor recreational activity in which the participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or mobile device and other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers called “geocaches” or “caches,” anywhere in the world. Groups will create their trails, using GPS and finding and hiding their geocache treasure! Campers will have to think quickly to determine where the trails will lead.

Although it is a Speciality Camp, campers also will get to do all of the other awesome activities CaHiTo has to offer, including hiking, arts and crafts, scavenger hunts, organized games, climbing wall (allowing that the camper is eight and up at the start of the program) and much more.

Program

A typical day begins with all Campers meeting at their assigned Camp Sites. All Campers will be in small groups of children of the same age, with whom they will spend the entire session. The camper Staff ratio will be 2:16. Camp CaHiTo is a “group-centered” camp – meaning that our campers have the same counselor and peer group for the camp session. Group-centered camping gives children the best opportunity to experience the powerful feeling of belonging, to make and keep new friends, and to connect with their counselors.

Campers participate in various activities, including age-appropriate games, hikes, and crafts determined by the counselors and what the group likes to do. Activities include Stem Activities, Archery, Hiking, Art and Crafts, Scavenger Hunts, and more.

General Information

Camp CaHiTo is located at 3101 Balboa Drive, San Diego, CA 92101. The west side of Balboa Park is conveniently located in Balboa Park near I-5 and the 163 freeways. We will have three drop-off and pick-up times; please check your registration for the appropriate times.

Camp Hours – Group A 7:30 am – 4:00 pm / Group B 8:00 am – 4:30 pm / Group C 8:30 am – 5:00 pm

What campers should bring to Camp

  • Campers should bring lunch and snacks. Refrigeration is not available; please do not send perishable foods. (Camp will not be providing a snack, and the Snack Shack will be closed)
  • A Water bottle with your camper’s names on it. Drinking fountains will not be available, but water stations will be available to refill bottles.
  • Comfortable play clothes, as campers, WILL get dirty.
  • Closed-toed shoes and socks are required. No sandals or open-back shoes.
