COVID-19 Response & FAQs

In accordance with guidance from the CDC, San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency, California Department of Public Health, and the American Camping Association

Currently, all May-August Camps have been Cancelled.

After reviewing and considering multiple options, Camp Fire San Diego – Camp CaHiTo has made the difficult decision to cancel our Summer Camp 2020 season. We will miss seeing our Campers at camp this Summer, and we look forward to seeing everyone in the Fall and Winter. Note that we are looking into programming that would complement Fall 2020 modified school schedules, more info will follow.

Notice to our Families

The cancellation is an outcome of the current pandemic, which creates circumstances that would affect the high-quality programming we work so hard to provide campers year after year. The safety and health of all of our campers and staff is always our highest priority. Our decision is based on our core values of creating a physically and emotionally safe place for campers and staff. We will continue to look for guidance from San Diego County and the CDC and will take every precaution to reopen safely.

If you are registered for a May through August Camp, we would be happy to issue a credit for future use. Alternatively, you may request a refund, or choose, to donate the fees paid to Camp Fire San Diego to help support our organization and allow us to continue to support our community for the future. July through August Registrations, if we do not hear from you by June 8th, we will issue you a credit; credits are valid for three years from the date they are issued. All May and June Camps have been processed, if we had not heard back from the Primary Guardian/Parent a Credit has been issued to the Account. To initiate your request, please email us back at [email protected].

We regret any inconvenience this causes to our families. We appreciate your support of Camp Fire San Diego – Camp CaHiTo and your understanding during this time. As the situation around novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call the office at 619-291-8985 or email [email protected].

We will be following all directives to reduce exposure at Camp and continue to update you if the public health department decides on: quarantines, Camp closures, and exclusion policies.
