Adventure Awaits at Traditional Day Camp!

Experience the magic of summer in the heart of San Diego. Our Traditional Day Camps at Balboa Park offer a dynamic mix of outdoor adventure, creative expression, and friendship-building. No two days are ever the same!

Our Traditional Day Camp is designed for children ages 5 to 13.

Small Groups, Big Connections

Camp CaHiTo is a group-centered camp. This means your camper stays with the same counselor and peer group for the entire session. This stability fosters a powerful sense of belonging, allowing children to build deep friendships and connect with their mentors.

Our Ratios:
Ages 5–13: 2 Staff per 16 Campers
Little Stars (3–5): 2 Staff per 12 Campers

Is This the Right Camp for My Child?

  • Age 5 Policy: If your 5-year-old has completed Pre-K and is entering Kindergarten, they are ready for Traditional Day Camp!
  • Ages 3–5: If your child is younger, please explore our Little Stars Program.
  • High Schoolers: Students entering 9th–12th grade can join our leadership track via the DASH/CIT programs.

A Day at Camp CaHiTo

A typical day kicks off at our assigned Camp Sites before diving into a world of activity. Our counselors curate age-appropriate experiences based on the weekly theme and the group’s interests.

Our Activities Include:

  • Outdoor Skills: Archery, Hiking, and Obstacle Courses.
  • Creativity: Arts & Crafts, Singing, and STEM projects.
  • Classic Fun: Organized sports, traditional camp games, and “Water Day” (Thursdays).
  • Exploration: Scavenger Hunts, Hiking, and geo-caching. Campers age 8+ also enjoy visits to local Balboa Park Museums!

New to Camp CaHiTo? Come visit us at one of our Upcoming Meet & Greets to tour the grounds and meet our team!
